The government has given two options to get the money. In the first option, Rs 1500 will come in the form of digital currency of RBI and the remaining Rs 1000 will come in the CBDC wallet.

New Delhi: A big update has come regarding Delhi government's Lakshmi Yojana. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta can release the first instalment of Rs 2500 for the eligible women of Delhi today. For this, a big programme has been organised at Talkatora Stadium, where about 2500 women will be given the benefits of the scheme directly. It is being said that till now more than 6 lakh women have registered for this scheme. The government's target is to provide this help to more than 17 lakh needy women of Delhi.

How will women get Rs 2500?

The government has given two options to get the money. In the first option, Rs 1500 will come in the form of digital currency of RBI and the remaining Rs 1000 will come in the CBDC wallet. In the second option, if you do not want a digital wallet, then the entire amount of Rs 2500 will be deposited directly into your Aadhaar. Will be transferred to the bank account linked to it. Meaning the money will come into your hands only.

Who will get the benefit of Lakshmi Yojana?

Not everyone will get the benefit of this scheme. Some conditions have been kept for this.

  • The age of the woman should be between 21 and 60 years.
  • The annual income of the family should not be more than Rs 2.5 lakh.
  • The woman or her family should be living in Delhi for at least 10 years.
  • They must have Aadhaar card, PAN card, income certificate, voter ID of Delhi and a bank account linked to Aadhaar.

This scheme has been specially designed for women from economically weaker sections so that they can get some financial assistance every month.

Which women will not get the benefit?

The government has made it clear that some people have been kept out of this scheme.

  • If someone in the family is in a government job.
  • If the family pays income tax or files a GST return.
  • There is a four-wheeler in the house.
  • The electricity bill comes to more than 2400 units in a year.
  • There are more than three children in the family.

If someone takes money by giving wrong information, then the government can take legal action along with recovery of the money.

How much budget has the government kept?

Delhi government has kept a huge budget for this scheme. A provision of Rs 5,110 crore has been made for the Lakshmi Yojana in the budget for the financial year 2026-27. Today it is being started from Talkatora Stadium and gradually Rs 2500 will start coming into the accounts of all eligible women every month.
